How to Keep Your Collage Papers Organized

I’ve been using the same storage system ever since I started working in collage
I love my nine drawers of colors so much, that when I am traveling, I organize my papers into nine zip lock bags.
When I paint en Plein Air, I have nine bins on my custom designed easel.

I’ve got the sets of drawers (three of them) up high on shelving in my studio so that they are easy to access.
I removed the wheels from the drawers and stacked them side-by-side.
The drawers pull-out of the frame and become a bucket of color that I set next to my easel.

It’s much easier to find blue paper when you have it organized into one drawer versus digging into a multi colored
paper palette. I have confidence that your work will benefit from organizing your collage papers by color!

Check out this YouTube video explaining where and why I categorize each paper;
a virtual peek into my thought process.
