Apply Metallic Leaf with Texture and Dimension!

Tacky When Dry Gel Medium

Today’s Tidbit shows you how to apply Mona Lisa simple metallic leaf with a GEL adhesive that goes on thick, textural, and can be patterned by pushing it through a stencil. How cool is that? I only just found this product and it’s the first time I’m using it, so … You saw it here first! I love the way it holds texture and pattern. Unlike traditional adhesive sizing for metallic leaf which goes on with a paint brush, this product I spread with a palette knife. You can also use a plastic card or a scraper tool.

This is a sneak peek into a multi-part video lesson series from my Patreon Page. Hop on over and watch me create the Extra Heavy Gel Matte textured and painted background and then follow along as I apply Pyrolle Red Light tinted molding paste through my stencil design, Railroad Stax, to achieve yet another layer of texture.
