Creating a Mixed Media Postage Stamp Background

This is For The Birds!

Today’s Tidbit is a sneak peek into one of the lessons from my new Mixed Media Airmail Art online workshop which launches August 1st. Creating a background with US Mail postage stamps, post marks, letters, and envelopes is a delicate balance of busy and restful space. Adding a bird on top of this background requires putting the pieces together like a puzzle, and giving him a place to land. The red rubber vulcanized stamp set I am using was created just for my workshop and features vintage post marks from NY and MA, an Art Nouveau post card graphic, the lines that cancel stamps, and two different airmail marks.

So, if' you’ve got a few minutes, let’s go check it out!
