Partial Prints–Less is More

Less is More, Tropical Blossoms with Gel Plate and Mini Ink Blender

The wonderful folks at Joggles offer my 9x12 stencils for just $6 each! They are mylar, which means even though they look thin and elegant, they are durable and sturdy. The biggest worry is them tangling with each other, which is why I keep mine with sheets of palette paper between them. All of the new stencils are available for purchase at Joggles.com

In this lesson I’m exploring the beauty of partial prints created by sponging color with my new Mini Ink Blending Tool by Ranger. I’m printing small sections of this Tropical Blossoms mask rather than the full 9x12 stencil on the 8x10 Gel Plate. Sometimes you want a more organic, ragged edge pattern that is not recognizable, you can achieve this with even the boldest of patterned stencils by sponging paint into random sections vs. the full image.
