Creating an Ephemera Background for Watercolor

Glue Down Vintage Papers and Coat with Watercolor Ground

Golden Artist Colors makes Watercolor Ground in their QoR Line of Products

This week I’ll show you how I create an ephemera background for watercolor. We are gluing the paper down with acrylic gel medium, not something you can sketch and watercolor on top of. But, have no fear! Golden Artist Colors has some wonderful products. Watercolor Ground not only prepares the surface for watercolor, but it tones back the intensity of the ephemera, unifies it, and makes it just the right amount of subtle for a watercolor to sit on top of. That’s awesome!

If you are interested in joining me for Bella Botanicals, watercolor sketching in Tuscany, that’s May 30-June 5th and there’s one spot left. Get the details and trip itinerary at StradaToscana.com
