Don’ t miss this ALL NEW concept for a fun filled workshop in Sacramento
Learn David Lobenberg’s California Vibe watercolor style through demonstrations and guidance from the man, the master on day one and two! THEN learn how to become a master at gel printing with Elizabeth on day three. On day four be prepared to apply collage paper and mark making for a mixed media experience with Elizabeth St. Hilaire.
David and Elizabeth have been friends for years, often taking each other’s workshops in Sacramento. We are both super excited about the rooster in collage because of the glorious color and all the tail feathers!

Gel Printing Supplies:
Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint Mixing Set PLUS Van Dyke Brown, Burnt Sienna for gel printing your papers. Keep in mind the colors of roosters and your ability to mix color, purchase additional colors of paints accordingly, I suggest starting with 1 oz bottles.
Please do not bring craft paint, you will NOT achieve the same results.
Speedball Deluxe Brayer 6-inch for applying paint to Gel Plate– if you can get two, it’s better. One for warm, one for cool colors
Gel Press Printing Plate 8x10 or 9x12
Joggles Stencils Designed by Yours Truly, I will have some for purchase at the venue. Or what you have on hand, 9x12
Joggles Foam Stamps Designed by Yours Truly or what you have in your stash–optional
Rice Paper 9x12 Pad there are many different kinds of rice paper, the Sumi-E sketch pad is what I like the best, especially for working on the Gel Plate.
Variety of Found Papers sheet music, maps, wallpaper, hand written notes, old book pages, French cook books, a variety of thickness and textures. No shiny papers, no magazines
Gallon Bags for bringing your papers home, divided by color–optional
Roll of clear, heavy duty packing tape to clean your Gel Plate at the end of the day–optional
Collage Supplies:
Liquitex Gloss Gel Medium OR Golden Soft Gel Gloss this is the collage glue, I use gloss because it keeps the colors more vibrant and rich, matte products tend to dull back the intensity of your colors
Glue Brush: I only use the Princeton Catalyst short handle #8 filbert specifically for glue application.
Water Container and Roll of Paper Towels
Stabilo Woodies pencils for adding some pops of color, lines, scribbles, marks, these are water soluble and blendable AND/OR
Posca Markers for making lines and patterns, these are opaque and permanent–both are optional, Elizabeth will demonstrate
