Hand Painted Holiday Note Cards

My Latest Stencil Designs Are Great for Card Making

The wonderful folks at Joggles offer my 9x12 stencils for just $6 each! They are mylar, which means even though they look thin and elegant, they are durable and sturdy. The biggest worry is them tangling with each other, which is why I keep mine with sheets of palette paper between them. All of the new stencils are available for purchase at Joggles.com

For 5x7 note cards, I prefer to use by 5.7 Gel Plate with 4-inch brayer. I am using Golden Fluid Acrylic paints for their viscosity and drying time. The Fluid Acrylics are dry as soon as you pull your print, because the paint is so thin. This is key because we do not want to have to watch paint dry, we want to keep moving! Feel free to switch up the color combos to represent the holiday being celebrated in your family, or to make all-year note card colors. After all, people LOVE a handwritten note in the mail and these cards take it to the next level!

I am also incorporating a foam stamp I designed for Joggles called Seed Pods. You can use any foam, rubber, or hand carved stamp for this effect, the idea is just to have another visual element that you can place specifically for composition and balance.

Learn and Be Inspired With Me Online

I also have an online workshop called Building Better Backgrounds that is always open and offers 14 different techniques for mixed media backgrounds

If you are interested in in-depth learning I have an online self-study Gel Plate Monoprinting for Collage Paper workshop that’s fantastic.
