Hand Painted Face Masks

Treat Them as an Accessory, Just Like Glasses

This week I’m playing with some items that were generously sent to me by Gel Press! Let’s work to make face masks more fun without breaking the bank. You can get plain, white facemarks for pretty cheap and they make an excellent blank canvas for gel printing. Since Golden Fluid Acrylics are highly viscous and the Gel Plate applies them in such a thin layer, you do not need to worry about any add-ins to use these paints on fabric. You can wash the masks no problem too, as nothing takes acrylic paint out of any of my clothing.

I washed the face masks first, to rid them of any sizing and to prepare the surface to best accept the paint application. I am using a 3x5 Gel Press plate with a 4-inch Gel Press brayer, that makes the perfect size setup to print the face masks. The clear acrylic mount allows me to see what I am doing when I choose to use the Gel Plate like a stamp.

Since we have to wear them, we might as well make them into a fun accessory… just like fun pairs of colorful glasses.
