Let’s Play! NEW Aquatic Rice Paper Designs

Wet and Watery, Subtle and Bold, Splattered and Brushed….

For Today’s Tidbit, I am super excited to play with adding color to my new Aquatic Life printed rice papers, made in Italy. This set of my designs is printed in blue ink rather than black like the previous set of Birds and Bugs with US Mail papers which were printed in black. The subtle difference between the blue and the black is beautiful! Since it's Aquatic Life, images of the sea, and blue ink, I decided to paint the papers with tones of blue and purple and add some gold and pearl metallics. I am playing with the idea of soaking color from the back as well as splattering it from the front.

This is A4 sized 30gsm rice paper so the color soaks all the way through from the back; that means when you tear it, you get colored edges and not white. How cool. You can use these beautiful rice papers in the background of art journals or collages, incorporate them into torn paper collages as colored bits or you can tear out specific parts of the pattern and weave them into your collaged image. I think they would be especially cool in collages that feature fish or boats, water or even a portrait of a fisherman! The creative possibilities are endless.

You just never know what will happen when you give yourself permission to play!

My A4 Rice Paper is printed in Italy on 30gsm stock that contains some fibers, offering great texture. This paper is distributed exclusively by Joggles.
